In 1849, on the shoreline of Hong Kong Harbour where the City Hall stands today, the original Victoria Recreation Clubhouse was established. Having been in operation in Canton since 1832 the Victoria Recreation Club is distinguished as the oldest sporting and recreation club in the territory.

The natural stone clubhouse at Deep Water Bay is a paddlers dream. Uniquely located on the south side of Island Road between Shouson Hill and Repulse Bay the clubhouse enjoys extraordinary waterfront access to Deep Water Bay.
